The 2nd Study Session for JC-GSHR Members-Only

This is Saki Kawamitsu, a member of JC-GSHR secretariat.

Following the first study session held in November, I would like to report on the 2nd study session held on December 25th, 2023.

The 2nd study session was held to discuss the Japanese version of the best-selling book "Helping Health Workers Learn" which is a must-read for those who aim to create healthy communities and has been translated and published in many countries around the world.
This time, the second part of the book was featured in this session. The second part was focused mainly on what are appropriate teaching materials to be used when conducting health education, how to create appropriate teaching materials, and how to effectively deliver health education.
It was an opportunity to exchange opinions and share valuable experiences with participants who have been involved in health education in Japan and abroad. Thanks to all the participants, we realized the point that methods that take into account local characteristics rather than uniformity are most likely to reach local residents, regardless of whether in Japan or abroad.

The next study session is scheduled for late January, and we plan to continue to have study session once a month in 2024. If you’re interested in, we hope you join us.
