The symposium “Planetary Health: From Schools to Communities.”

On November 1-2, at the 40th Japan Association for Global Health(JAGH) Conference held in Tokyo, we hosted “Planetary Health: From Schools to Communities” with the JSGH Student Section (JSGH-S). To address the question of why planetary health struggles to reach the public, we introduced and discussed how food and nutrition education in Japanese schools effectively conveys planetary health in a highly accessible way.
The Student Section also presented initiatives to convey these concepts to high schools from a university student perspective.
Japan's food and nutrition education evolves beyond merely providing nutritious meals; it encompasses nutrition education and, through food education, conveys the health of our planet to children in an accessible way.
