My experience of completing my master's degree
Date of report: 31 May 2024
Reported by: Haruka Miura
Hello! My name is Haruka Miura and I graduated from the Master's Course of the Graduate School of Human Sciences at Osaka University in March this year.
During my two-year master's course, I not only wrote my master's thesis but also engaged in activities as part of my research activities, which was a very active and meaningful experience.
In parallel, I also worked as a secretariat member of the consortium, taking minutes at regular meetings and accompanying the CSE project to conduct field research together with professors as member of that.
Within the consortium, I was able to critically examine my own research from multiple perspectives by talking people who have various experiences in the field of international cooperation, as well as professors affiliated with many universities, research institutions and international organizations.
Especially, the experience of organizing monthly study workshop was very hard but enjoyable and helped me to develop my own administrative skills with other secretariat (e.g. facilitator skills, ability to run meetings, etc.)
By the way, I am actually currently working as a new employee in a private company.
Once I leave the world of (egg) researchers, I plan to learn about social trends from a broader perspective in the private sector.
Although it is still a long way off, I would like to work hard with the aim of being involved in international cooperation projects that only a private company can provide. Although my future life plans are still undecided, I would like to stay connected to international cooperation.
To sum up, my two years of study in the Master's program and my experience as a member of the Consortium's secretariat have been very meaningful and life-changing for me.
I feel strongly that my two years of study in the Master's program and working as a member of the Consortium's secretariat have been very meaningful and life-enhancing for me.
