The International Sociological Association (XX ISA World Congress of Sociology) was held in Melbourne, Australia from June 25 to July 1, 2023.
The International Sociology of Association (ISA) consists of a number of Research Committees (RC). During the conference, researchers and students from all over the world present their research in sessions organized by their respective research committees.
I am a member of the Mental Health Committee of RC49, and I am presenting a paper entitled "The Association between Mental Health and Overall Health, Safety Behavior, and Social Relationships Among University Students in Cambodia".
This is an analysis of a student health survey in the Cambodian School Health Project that Tokyo Gakugei University is currently working on. The result of the analysis shows that low self-esteem of economic status, irregular eating habits, and few warm relationships are related to low mental health status among university students in Cambodia. In addition, about 80% of the students tended to have low general trust.
During the Q&A session, I was able to get questions and advice from new perspectives from people having different backgrounds in different countries. I would like to make use of this experience for future papers and for the Cambodian school health project.
